London Sound Survey

Ian Rawes collects, records and writes about the sounds of everyday life.

Alongside the role as editor for UK Soundmap at the British Library, Rawes curates the London Sound Survey, a self-initiated non-funded research project to compile a comprehensive sound map of London released under a Creative Commons license. A truly fascinating venture.

(Listen to an interview with Ian recorded for Lost Steps on Resonance FM. Ian is also encouraging everyone to contribute field recordings to the Survey using SoundCloud upload. So, Londoners! — what are you all waiting for!?)
